Gurkha and Nepalese Guards

shipsecurity-nepalGurkhas from Nepal have won an unrivalled reputation for their high standards of personal disciplines, fitness and training for many years around the world.

GIMS recruits Gurkhas of the Indian and Nepalese Armies, many of whom have served in combat and with UN forces.

To these, the Company adds a mix of men and women from Nepal who have additional skills. Civilian Gurkha Guards have been widely hired in war-torn regions, such as Iraq and Afghanistan. Junior Gurkhas, aged in their early twenties, play an important role on cruise liners in providing the next generation of our Guards. They are highly motivated, physically fit and well educated. Female Gurkhas recruited from Nepal's hotel, airline and tourist industries make excellent Guards because of their good command of English and traditional Nepalese charm.
