Born in England and educated
at St Peter's College Oxford where he took a Bachelor
of Arts in Modern History in 1973. After working
in the Ministry of Defence as an Administrative
Trainee in the Home Civil Service, he joined the
British Army's Devonshire and Dorset Regiment,
attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
in 1974. After various postings, he served as
Adjutant of the Prince of Wales's Division Depot
at Crickhowell in Wales, then, in 1981, was seconded
to the Sultan of Oman's Land Forces as a Company
Commander with the Western Frontier Regiment in
Thumrait, Dhofar.

In 1984, he transferred to the 6th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rifles as a Major and was posted to Hong Kong where he served from 1985 to 1992. He was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel and commanded 6th Gurkha Rifles in Hong Kong and in Brunei, where he served as Garrison Commander of British Forces from 1992-93. In 1994, he retired to found the Gurkha International Group, of which he has been Managing Director up to the present.
He is a Fellow of the
Royal Asiatic Society, Companion of the Nautical
Institute, Fellow of the Recruitment and Employment
Confederation and Member of the Hong Kong Institute
of Directors. He is a founding member and adviser
of the Hong Kong 6th Gurkha Rifles Association,
a Church Councillor at Christ Church, Kowloon
Tong and a member of the committee for the Hong
Kong Apostleship of the Seas. He is Chairman of
the Hong Kong Bodyguard Association. He is a published
author of three books:

After graduating with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Geography and English from Dayanand
Anglo Vedic University in 1995, he worked as an
Assistant Clerk with British Gurkha Overseas (Private)
Ltd in Nepal. He was later promoted to Chief Clerk
and served in that capacity from 1998 to 1999.
He joined Gurkha International Manpower Services
Ltd in Hong Kong in 1999 as the Executive, Operations
dealing with operational, administrative and accounting
issues and was promoted to Assistant Manager,
Operations, in 2005. He was promoted to Manager,
Operations in 2007.

After graduating with a Bachelor
of Commerce degree from University of Pune in
1992, he joined Gurkha International (Hong Kong)
Ltd in 1997. He was promoted to Executive, Marketing
and Sales in 2004 and again to Assistant Manager,
Marketing and Sales in 2005. An active sports
enthusiast, he holds a green belt in Tae Kwon
Do. He was promoted to Manager, Marketing and
Sales in 2007.

After graduating with a Bachelor
of Science degree from Tribhuwan University, Nepal,
he taught briefly in a secondary school and subsequently
worked as a supervisor in Gorakhkali Rubber Udyog,
a rubber manufacturing company in Nepal. He arrived
in Hong Kong in 1994 and worked in the Hard Rock
Cafe. Thereafter he joined Gurkha International
(Hong Kong) Ltd as a Guard then Night Controller,
and was appointed to the position of Executive,
Administration and Accounts in 2006. He was appointed
to Assistant Manager, Administration and Accounts
in 2007. He is the Chairman of Hukpa Chongbang
Welfare Committee and is also an active member
of the Limbu community in Hong Kong.

He joined the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) in 1993 as an officer cadet. He passed out of training as a 2nd Lieutenant and graduated in Military Science. He served in the RNA for 12 years until January 2005 and left with the rank of Captain Platoon Commander. He joined Gurkha International (Hong Kong) Ltd in March 2005 as Patrol Officer and was promoted to Assistant Manager, Operations in 2007.

The eldest son of Hon Lt (GCO) Mohan Bahadur Thapa QG Signals, born in Hong Kong’s British Military Hospital in 1974. He completed high school at the Gurkha High School, Hong Kong 1990. He further completed further education in a college in Tamil Nadu, India.
He joined Gurkha International (Hong Kong) Ltd as a Reliever Security in 2006 and also attended the Basic Bodyguard course run by the Bodyguard Association Hong Kong. He became the Night Controller in 2006 and Patrol Officer in 2007, and was promoted to Executive, Training and Recruitment in the same year.
